I’ve sat on this website for quite some time. Although officially a trained historian in the field of in Intellectual and Cultural History, my degree work ultimately became a vehicle for Western Esoteric Studies. Western Esoteric Studies is a cross-disciplinary field which emerged out of religious studies in the 1990s. My research fields include 20th Century occult streams, Freemasonry, and Kabbalah. Naturally, the posts and links curated here will reflect these interests – although a few surprises are likely in store.
For serious students of Western Esotericism, I highly recommend these initial resources:
Association for the Study of Western Esotericism
Esoterica Publications (ASE affiliated)
J.R. Ritman Library, Amsterdam
Exeter Centre for the Study of Esotericism
The Centre for Research into Freemasonry and Fraternalism
Mysticism and Western Esotericism at the University of Amsterdam
